VOXX continues a trend of new manufactures entering the growing powersports market after they announced they will offer its new 360-degree sports camera – the 360Fly.
The new camera is targeted for independent 12 volt, bike, ski, surf, motocross and powersports shops and adds to growing array of powersports products coming from traditional Mobile Electronic manufactures.
VOXX plans to market the camera through independent shops and is now signing up reps that service powersports dealers. The product is also now shipping to Best Buy
“We’re going in to a category dominated by GoPro and we’re offering a high tech alternative,” said VOXX Electronics President Tom Malone.
The 360 degree camera takes panoramic video images. Users can then click and drag within the video images to change the view. On advanced feature allows users to shoot footage directly in front of them as they are moving and then zoom around to see the imagery all around you.
The camera has a field view of 360 degrees horizontal by 240 degrees vertical, which is more than twice the view of traditional POV cameras. It also shock-proof, water resistant, and has advanced features such as built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth capability.
The product was recently unveiled at the 2015 SEMA show held this month at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
In addition to VOXX, other new Powersport products were displayed by multiple suppliers including new entries from Mitek and Kicker
