Sony claimed it is on schedule to ship its first radio with CarPlay and Android Auto, the XAV-AV100, in mid- to late November with a very aggressive retail price of $499.
It is expected to be one of the markets lowest price CarPlay model available at the time it ships this fall. The units features an AV unit with a 6.4 inch hi resolution screen and Bluetooth. It will delete traditional CD and DVD mechanisms.
Sony has started shipping two new entry level radios receivers starting at a very aggressive $79 suggested retail price. The second model adds SiriusXM capability at $99.99. Both units have SB inputs and come with a hi power built in amplifier.
Sony also announced it will start shipping 2 user installable Bluetooth kits designed to work with any USB ports or 12 volt plugs
The new units promise users full voice control for commands like calling, navigation and listening to text messages. It uses Siri for iOS devices and the “Assistant” application for Android.
