Air Bag Module Prompts Recall of 2007-2008 Hyundai Elantra Sedan
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the air bag control module on model year 2007-2008 Hyundai Elantra may receive an unstable electrical signal from the seat track position sensor. The signal may then cause the driver’s airbag to deploy at a higher-than-intended pressure.
Approximately 95,700 vehicles may be affected. Hyundai has notified its dealers will reprogram the air bag control module free of charge. The safety recall will begin in April 2011. Owners may contact Hyundai’s customer assistance center at 1-800-633-5151.
