Two weeks ago, Lexus revealed the UX concept for the Paris Motor Show. Lexus has reimagined the automotive interior with new redeigned 3D hologram high-resolution automotive displays.
The released images show a large crystal-shaped box in the center console that stands out immediately as something new and completely different. The company says the box will display climate control and infotainment options in full 3D for the driver and passenger. The instrument cluster gets the hologram treatment as well with an orb floating in the middle and the ability to display both analog and digital information
The UX's interior concept also has a few new interesting features. The windows are electrochromic, so they can be darkened as needed Lexus included the concept car staples of touch-sensitive buttons and side-view mirror cameras.
When can you expect to you'll see hologram displays in future Lexus models? No timetable has been set, as with all concept vehicles the idea is to push the envelope and for us car lovers to tease us with the possibilities and a give us a glimpse of the future. It does appear though that 3d hologram displays are not that far off.
